Great Commission
The Great Commission
The author is convinced that as God’s children we must have heard about the Great Commission. Before the Lord Jesus ascended into heaven, He conveyed a final message which was very important for all humanity. That message was the Great Commission from our Lord Jesus to the believers. This Great Commission is recorded in the Bible, among others in:
Matthew 28:19,20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”
The Great Commission clearly assigned us to go to spread the Gospel, the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the assignment or mission is reconfirmed in Ephesians 6:15, “And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” (KJV)
Or “And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” (NIV) (We encourage you to read “The Victorious People”).
As God’s people, we certainly want to carry out this Great Commission of our Lord Jesus. So how would we take into consideration the significance of this Great Commission, then act upon it, exerting every effort to spread the Gospel to people around us?
